Each year the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution (NSDAR) and the Connecticut Daughters of the American Revolution (CTDAR) award a variety of scholarships.
Applicants must be citizens of the United States and must attend or plan to attend an accredited college or university in the United States the following year.
CTDAR State Scholarships
CTDAR awards up to five $1,000 scholarships to high school seniors who will be entering their first year of college the following year.
Each student needs to contact his or her local CTDAR chapter for
sponsorship. Applicants must be in the top 25 percent of their class or a member of the National Honor Society. CTDAR scholarships are based on academic
achievement, extracurricular, and/or work activities.
One scholarship is reserved for the Pamela Hudak Memorial Scholarship.
Applications for CTDAR Scholarships must be mailed and postmarked by February 14, 2023.
Pamela Hudak Memorial Scholarship
The Pamela
Hudak Memorial Scholarship is reserved for a Connecticut Society of
Children of the American Revolution (C.S.C.A.R.) member. The Pamela Hudak Memorial Scholarship may be sponsored by a
CTDAR
chapter or C.S.C.A.R. society. Pamela Hudak Memorial Scholarships are based
on active participation in C.A.R.
Applications for the Pamela Hudak Memorial Scholarship must be mailed and postmarked by
February 14, 2023.
National DAR Scholarships
The NSDAR Scholarship Committee now has an online
submission process. DAR chapter sponsorship is not required;
however, applicants may want to reach out to a DAR chapter in their
area for help with their applications. Scholarships are judged
based on excellence, commitment to the field of study, and/or
financial need or other restrictions of individual scholarships.
The Scholarship application
online portal is now open from November 1, 2022, through January 31,
2023, at 11:39 p.m.).
