Our members share a common bond which is their Patriots of the American Revolutionary War. Most Connecticut DAR chapters have a registrar who is a trained genealogist. She can help you determine if you are eligible to join. The good news is that there are four different ways in which you may be eligible, and many aspects of the process are now accessible online. Our vibrant and active Connecticut DAR chapters always welcome new members.

We look forward to welcoming you as a prospective member!

We are women who are passionate about making a difference in our communities through projects focusing on historic preservation, education, and patriotism. DAR promotes its objectives through committee work. The committees are diverse and cover a multitude of different subjects that vary by chapter; American History, Service for Veterans, Project Patriot that benefits members of our active military, and Women's Issues are just a few of the committees.

The National Society has verified the lineages of more than 900,000 Daughters since its founding in 1890. For a complete description of DAR membership requirements, visit our National Society website.

Consider joining the more than 2,400 Connecticut DAR members. There are 42 DAR chapters throughout Connecticut; at least one is local to you.

For questions regarding DAR membership in the State of Connecticut or for help in determining which chapter is closest to you, please email our state membership chair. We look forward to hearing from you!
